Margaret McDonald died Friday 15th April 2005 in Marie Curie hospice at around 6am after a long illness. She died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 66. Margaret was retired and lived in High Farm. Loving mother to Carole and Marie, Mother in-law to Sean, treasured nan of Barry, Carl and Kellie, great nanna to Mark Brandon and of course much loved wife to Leo. Margaret was a strong woman who never got herself down and always just got on with it. Even when faced with cancer she put on a brave face battled through and continued to look after her family. Always there for everyone with great advice and words of wisdom Margaret is a great loss to our family but knowing she is up there looking over us gives us comfort. She was a warm and kind woman but often showed a sharp tongue and witty humour that we all loved, she loved all of her family dearly and was definitely the head of the family.
ONLY THE BEST
MISS AND LOVE YOU SO MUCH, THE FOLLOWING POEM SUMS EVERYTHING UP, LOVE ALWAYS UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN YOUR DAUGHTER MARIE.
A heart of gold stopped beating,
two shining eyes at rest,
god broke our hearts to prove,
he only takes the best,
god knows you had to leave us,
but you did not go alone,
for part of us went with you,
the day he took you home.
To some you are forgotton,
to others just part of the past,
but to us who loved and lost you ,
the memory will always last.
Sorrow.
If your sorrow can be lessened,
In some warm and special way,
By knowing that so many share,
In your loss with you today.
And if it brings you comfort,
When others show they care,
Please know that thoughts are with you,
And remember they are there.
